Come vist me in my studio at Meadow Mill, Dundee! Rare opportunity to see behind the scenes and have a nosey around the studios of artists, designers and makers.
I will have the work I created on my residency to Cleveland on show, and also some new risograph and silkscreen printmaking work. Prints and cards will be for sale!
Watch my process, making sumi ink paintings and cutting out shapes.
I'm teaching a really fun zine making evening class this October. Go here to check it out or book tickets. Learn to use and combine vintage Riso printers, modern Xerox copiers and traditional Adana letterpress to make your own Zine. You can make your own images and text and format them in a personal or political statement piece.
I have never committed to it before, and feel like it's about time! Inktober is a 30 day challenge in October to create and publish one ink drawing per day. I'm looking forward to this! I will be posting them on my Instagram - why not do the challenge with me!
Dundee Print Collective (DPC) and Yes We Printers (YWP) will jointly host a new collaborate project that will open up a visual correspondence and dialogue between the cities of Dundee and Barcelona. Printmaking and image making will be the language used to communicate between individual artists from these two locations. Recent political events are dramatically challenging how we in Scotland will travel, live, study and work in Europe, also threatening the status of many Europeans living and working in Scotland. Opportunities and possibilities potentially lost to many, that are considered to be essential in life by others. Contemporary living has enabled the individual the opportunity of encountering the life, culture and environment of other individuals from different places. These encounters have created and changed perceptions of particular places, people and cultures. We are fortunate to have lived through a time when the consensus was that barriers and obstacles should be removed. However, by September 2018 the relationship between Scotland and Europe will be on course to being dramatically altered.
Join us at the Print Room as AIR/connect Scottish resident artist, Katie Ravenscraig's Cleveland debut as she exhibits and discusses the work she has created in Cleveland during her residency. Working in the darkroom at CPR and at her studio, Katie has made a body of work that focuses on the theme of “connection.”
