3D Printing for Printmakers

This class at DCA is a chance to experiment with how you can use 3D printing as a tool for making your own handmade artworks. Check it out here.
Learn how to use entry-level 3D print software and a 3D printer to create printing plates that can be used for relief and intaglio printing, including letterpress. You’ll also have a chance to use the 3D printing pen for freehand work. Our 3D printers use ABS or PLA plastic to make plates with fantastic detail and texture, but you could also send your files to be 3D printed commercially in other materials.

Post Card To Europe / Postal a Escocia

Dundee Print Collective (DPC) and Yes We Printers (YWP) will jointly host a new collaborate project that will open up a visual correspondence and dialogue between the cities of Dundee and Barcelona. Printmaking and image making will be the language used to communicate between individual artists from these two locations. Recent political events are dramatically challenging how we in Scotland will travel, live, study and work in Europe, also threatening the status of many Europeans living and working in Scotland. Opportunities and possibilities potentially lost to many, that are considered to be essential in life by others. Contemporary living has enabled the individual the opportunity of encountering the life, culture and environment of other individuals from different places. These encounters have created and changed perceptions of particular places, people and cultures. We are fortunate to have lived through a time when the consensus was that barriers and obstacles should be removed. However, by September 2018 the relationship between Scotland and Europe will be on course to being dramatically altered.
