WE ARE CONNECTED, BUT DO WE CONNECT?

2018

A meditation on personal connection, be it physical or digital. Intricate large scale photogram compositions, made using cut out paintings of hands, ceramics, and sea glass washed up on the shores of Lake Erie. Some of these hands are arranged so that they are almost touching, but not quite making the connection. Others overlap, forming a sea of limbs.

I also made several ceramic sculptural works. A pair of small bottles containing messages. I separated them. One is adrift in Lake Erie, the other flew back to Scotland with me. This project was created on residency in Cleveland, Ohio with Cleveland Print Room. I also worked with Brick Ceramic & Design Studio.
